Adi Guajardo
National Correspondent
Adi Guajardo joined Scripps News as a national correspondent in October of 2020. She is based out of sunny Phoenix, Arizona. Adi covers immigration on the Arizona border and general news across the state. Before making a move to Scripps News, Adi worked as a reporter at Denver7 (KMGH), in Colorado. Her experience includes extensive coverage of the George Floyd protests, four mass shootings in three states, the Austin bombings, immigration on the Texas and Arizona border, winter storms, and historic wildfires. From breaking news to special reports and investigations, Adi embraces all challenges and probes relentlessly to get answers. Adi’s passion for storytelling flourished in middle school after taking a television class where she reported on school news. That one class paved a career in journalism. Keeping people informed and being involved in the community is Adi’s passion. She works hard to raise suicide awareness after losing a loved one and helps promote diversity in the legal field. While working as a reporter at KENS5 (CBS) in San Antonio, she joined the HIV Alliance Inc. board to promote HIV testing in underserved communities. When Adi’s not working, she’s biking, hiking, running or out and about being a foodie. She loves to travel outside of the U.S. to help expand her understanding of the world and explore new cultures and traditions. If you have a story idea, career day, or event that you feel aligns with Adi’s passion, you can send her an email: adi.guajardo@scripps.com. If you or a loved one are experiencing suicidal thoughts, you can get help by calling the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255.
